Ok, let's talk airport food. This isn't food that you necessarily want to eat. But you already passed the security check point, and there's no going back out. So to save time, to avoid hassle, to feed your hunger, you may need to dine at one of the limited options near your departure gates, chosen for you by the airport establishment. And yet, to my surprise, La Pisa Cafe from the SEA-TAC Airport turned out to be quite a decent choice. If you're looking for a tl;dr summary, then take this away: decent airport personal 7" pizza, not something that is mind-blowing, but certainly enjoyable, especially when you least expect it while (im)patiently waiting for your flight to take off. At $10 (+ tax) price tag, I wouldn't call it especially expensive, either. Just skip on the drink, and grab a water cup somewhere, to save some cash. The actual "review", if you will: we got the vegetarian 7" personal pizza, and it's got tomatoes, spinach, olives, and red peppers. We opted for the classic garlic crust option, which was delicious. It was like eating a crispy bread stick, almost, and made the entire experience that much more better. The toppings were, to my disbelief, NOT skimmed on, and I could really feel the ingredients in my every bite. The top layer of melted cheese also tasted awesome. I believe it was mozzarella, but I am bad at naming cheese types, so forgive me if this is wrong. Of note, the pizza came out hot, most likely just newly baked from the often, and just a smidgen burned, adding some nice aroma and flavor that you'd normally want on a pizza. And as long as you don't open the pizza box after receiving your order, the pizza'd stay lukewarm and relatively fresh even after 5 to 10 minutes. So that's helpful. On a related note, the wait time is a bit long, but *if* they're in fact making your pizza to your order, baking it somewhat "from scratch", instead of serving you a pre-cooked, re-heated version, then I think the moderate wait isn't necessarily unwarranted. Just budget your time wisely if you need to make a flight; don't start ordering now if your plane is starting to board soon. We actually got a retail packaged bottle of Naked juice to go with this mini meal, and it was of course, overpriced. (I didn't pay, but I think it's on the upwards of $5-7, if I am not mistaken. Way too much for the package size to be worth it.) In fact, I wouldn't suggest getting any drink anywhere inside an airport shop, since there's plenty of free water available. But if you're too rich, and have too much water to throw away, then you most certainly have some options from the drinks menu, or at the fridge section. So, in conclusion, if you're ordering a pizza selection from La Pisa, you're probably getting the most out of your $10 while transiting between airports. You may even end up liking the food, as did I. Hence, I'm awarding this leaning tower of a restaurant a 4-star rating, and I honestly wouldn't mind using their service in the future again to try out their other pizza pie options.
